Jewish leaders here are urging the government to intercede with the Soviet Union for the repatriation of Jews captured on the Eastern Front while serving in forced labor battalions during the war.
A number of such prisoners have already been returned to Hungary, but at 1 ast 1,700 are known to be outside the country. A call has been issued asking relatives of prisoners whose whereabouts are known to submit their names to the Organization of Jewish Veterans of Labor Battalions.
