An “Altar for Freedom” monument, dedicated to the memory of “our beloved who died among the 6,000,000 of our Jewish brethren under Nazi barbarism” was unveiled at a service at the United Hebrew Brotherhood Cemetery here. The project was initiated by 100 survivors of the Nazi holocaust who are now living in the Minneapolis community.

A year ago, through the efforts of the group, with the aid of Minneapolis Jewry, a living memorial library fund was established at the Minneapolis Public Library, which announced this week that the first 50 books purchased through the $3,500 memorial fund had been placed on its shelves. The books depict the history of the Jewish people, including the Nazi period.
