The Moroccan National Broadcasting Service has canceled the Hebrew programs for Moroccan Jews apparently after Arab League intervention, it was learned today. The program has been broadcast for many years. The broadcast was a religious program sponsored by the Moroccan Council of Jewish Communities. The Council was not given any notice of the intent to cancel.
Council leaders protested to the Information Ministry and to the Broadcasting Service. The Jewish leaders were given an opportunity to protest directly to the Information Minister, but it appeared the decision was irrevocable.
