The Cultural Association of the Jews in Poland, representative body of Polish Jewry, made public in Warsaw an appeal the presidium of the Association has addressed to the World Jewish Congress executive suggesting the WJC urged all its affiliated organizations “to popularize the idea of neutrality” by Israel in the East-West conflict in the Middle East.

The appeal also asked the World Jewish Congress “to organize a popular movement” to achieve Israeli neutrality. It pointed out that “the interests of the Jewish people in Israel, as well was the very existence of Israel, requires that Israel should declare itself strictly neutral, should not permit itself to be dragged into the intrigues of the colonial powers, and should make a maximum effort to establish peaceful relations with its Arab neighbors.”
