Jews in Rome Protest Against Racial Clause in Birth Certificates

The Union of Italian Jewish Communities has addressed a protest to Mayor Salvatore Rebecchini against the city’s continued use of birth certificate forms left over from the Fascist regime. The birth certificates still require that the “race” of a newborn child be entered as either “Aryan” or “Hebrew.”
