Intensifying its preparations for the Spring offensive which the Nazis are planning to launch on the Russian front with the aid of Rumanian troops, the Rumanian government again ordered a mobilization of all able-bodied Jews in the country for forced labor, according to the Bucharest newspaper Timpul reaching here today.

All Jews in Rumania who have previously registered as available for labor service, were directed under the new order to report at once to recruiting centers for immediate duty. Those violating the order will be arrested and placed on trial before a military court, the Timpul reports.

While Jews are forbidden to serve in the Rumanian army, there are special Jewish labor comps which have been set up under the supervision of the Department for Compulsory Labor Camps established by the Ministry of Labor. Jews who violate the labor regulations are subject to trial by military authorities, while non-Jews may be tried before civil courts.
