Emphasizing that it speaks for all the Jews of Russia, the Jewish Anti-Fascist Committee transmitted New Year’s greetings to the Jews in the United States in a cable sent through the Ambijan Committee for Emergency Aid to the Soviet Union.
Hailing the Jewish revolt in the Warsaw ghetto, the message appeals for close unity between the Jews in Russia and those throughout the world in the fight against Hitlerism. “Through you,” the cable says, “we appeal to our brothers and sisters, wherever they may be, to harness all forces of other freedom loving peoples to assist to the maximum extent in the fulfillment of the historic decisions of the Teheren conference.”
