Jews in Transnistria Ordered to Give Fascist Salute; Prominent Jew Arrested

Bernard Fuchs, foremost Jewish industrialist in Rumania, has been arrested and deported together with his family to a concentration camp in Transnistria by order of Marshal Antonescu, the Bucharest radio reported today.

The broadcast also revealed that the Jews in Transnistria have been ordered to give the Fascist salute, by raising their right hand, whenever they greet each other. The order forcing the Jews to adopt the salute of the enemy was issued by Prof. Alexianu, governor of Transnistria.
