The 60,000 Jews in Tunis may henceforth publish only one Jewish newspaper, and eve this paper must carry the subtitle “Tunisian Jewish Newspaper,” the Lyons radio announced today.
The announcement was made in connection with the recent decree providing for the application of the Vichy anti-Jewish laws to Tunis. The details of this law, as interpreted today by the Lyons radio, aim at the elimination of Jews from business and professions, by regulating their enterprises and assets and by barring them from all the professions from which Jews in France have been ousted.
