An intensified anti-Israel propaganda campaign in Tunisia conducted by the Arab League is bringing disquiet in its wake among Tunisian Jews. This despite assurances by Premier Habib Bourguiba and his moderate Neo-Destour leadership and the presence of a Jew in the Cabinet.
Although Tunisian newspaper editors have remained “correct” in their references to Jews, it is feared that further pressure will have an effect on them. Meanwhile, more Tunisian Jews have registered this week at the Jewish Agency office here for immigration to Israel.
