Jews in Turkey Lauded for Assistance Given to Victims of Earthquake

The Turkish press in this city was unanimous today in its praise for a Jewish communal contribution to assist the victims of a recent earthquake which devastated the Western Turkish town of Fethiye. A delegation headed by Chief Rabbi Raphael Saban called on Istanbul Governor F. H. Gokay and handed him a check for the equivalent of $6,700.
