The renunciation by the Jewish population in the Republic of Turkey of its “minority rights” guaranteed under the international peace treaty, will be considered at a conference of Jewish notables which is to take place here shortly.

The conference was called by the Constantinople committee for the reorganization of the affairs of the Jewish communities in Turkey. The purpose of the conference will also be to prepare a new constitution for the administration of the Jewish communal affairs in the Republic.

A special representative of the Turkish Minister of the Interior will attend the conference, it was declared.

This action by the representatives of the Jewish communities is being taken in conjunction with the plan of other national minorities in Turkey. A delegation of Turkish Armenians has proceeded to Angora for the purpose of presenting to the government its desire to renounce the minority rights.
