The National Jewish Welfare Board today reported that special religious supplies have been shipped to the U.S. armed services all over the world to enable Jewish men and women in uniform to observe the forthcoming Jewish high holidays which begin on September 18th. The shipments include a million greeting cards, 50,000 leaflets explaining the significance of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, more than 150,000 copies of a new edition of the Board’s High Holiday prayer book and 200 Shofars made in Palestine. Also ample stocks of prayer shawls.
