The Jewish community of Salonica, once a stronghold of Jewish life, is gradually decreasing in numbers, according to a despatch from Salonica to the “Berliner Tageblatt.”
As a result of the bad economic relations between the Greeks and the Jews in Salonica, many Jewish families are emigrating, and the Greek element is continually increasing. The Jewish population, which was at one time the majority population in Salonica, has decreased 30 per cent, thus losing its majority.
