The 150th anniversary of the existence of the Jewish community in Szeged, the third larger Jewish community in Hungary, was celebrated here this week.
The Jewish community in Szeged this year spent about 15,000 pen goes (about $5,000) for Jewish cultural work, chiefly for the maintenance of Talmud Torahs in which 560 Jewish, children are receiving systematic Jewish education.

About 500 persons attended a dinner at the Walt Whitman Hotel here in honor of Rabbi Naftoli H. J. Riff on the occasion of his fortieth anniversary in the pulpit. The dinner also marked the fortieth anniversary of the existence of the first Orthodox congregation of Camden, Congregation Sons of Israel.
