The deportation of Polish Jews from Bavaria has been stopped, declared H. Seyda, assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs, replying to representations by the National Council of Polish Jews and the Jewish Sejm deputies who forwarded complaints from Polish subjects in Germany and Bavaria.
Mr. Seyda assured the Jewish spokesmen that he had been informed by both the Polish Ambassador in Berlin and the German Ambassador in Warsaw that the expulsion had been halted.
The Polish Government, nevertheless, demands the official withdrawal of the expulsion decree in order to avoid, among other things, the “painfully expensive traveling costs” of the deportees, M. Seyda asserted.
