Jews Reach England from South America to Volunteer in Polish Army

A number of Polish Jews, some of whom emigrated from Poland many years ago, arrived here from South America to enlist as volunteers in the Polish army in England, it was disclosed today.

The group was welcomed into the Polish forces by Major H. Melcer, chief Jewish chaplain, who praised their spirit and sense of duty. It is composed of Jews of various ages all eager to actively fight for the restoration of a free Poland.

Twenty Jewish refugees from Poland stranded in Sweden since the commencement of the war may soon be able to leave on a roundabout journey to the United States by way of South America, it was learned here today.
