The Jewish population of Leningrad is the second largest group in the city, according to statistics just published.
The Jews in Leningrad now number 84,503 as compared with 52,373 in 1923. The Russians number 1,386,872, while in 1923 they numbered only 916,833. Before the war only a small number of Jews were permitted to live in Petersburg.
