Jews Take Libel Action Against Hitlerist Paper Conducting Ritual Murder Agitation

The Central Union of German Citizens of Jewish Faith has decided to take legal action against Deputy Streicher, one of the editors of the Fitlerist paper, the “Stuermer”, of Nuremberg, for conducting a ritual murder at Paderborn of the Christian girl Martha Kaspar.

Deputy Holz, one of the editors of the Nuremberg “Stuermer”, was proceeded against last October on a charge of libel by Dr. Wassermann, a local Jewish medical man, for publishing an article in the paper accusing Dr. Wassermann of letting a non-Jewish woman who was his patient bleed to death “because the Talmud and the Shulchan Aruch impose on Jews the duty of killing Christians wherever the opportunity offers” and calling on Christians for that reason never to go to Jewish doctors.

The court acquitted Deputy Holz, refusing to hear Rabbi Dr. Eschelbacher who was called as an authority on the Talmud, ruling that as a member of the Central Union of German Citizens of Jewish Faith his evidence would be biased.

While ruling out the Rabbi, the court agreed, however, to hear two antisemitic experts, Dr. Erich Bischoff and Professor Goltsberger, who were called by the defence as authorities on the Talmud, and they declared that the teachings of the Talmud and the Shulchan Aruch are in complete contradiction to morality and that in adcition to these written laws the Jews obey also an unwritten secret code which pledges them to practise the most beastly abominations against non-Jews. Dr. Bischoff even went to the extent of swearing that there is a commandment which binds Jews to the practice of human sacrifice.

Deputy Holz was in 1928 the central figure in the Daube and the Manau ritual murder agitations in Bavaria. It was the “Stuermer” which took up the cry when the student Daube was found dead that he had been killed for ritual purposes by a Jewish follow-student named Haussman, and although Huassman was found not guilty and acquitted, it kept up the cry of ritual murder, and in the same way when the dead body of a Christian child was found at Manau, in Bavaria, it again started the cry of ritual murder, and the charge was even raised in the Bavarian Parliament by the Hitlerist Deputies.

The news of Deputy Holz’s acquittal was printed in big type by the chief Hitlerist organ, the “Voelkischer Beobachter” under the heading “The Race War of the National Socialist Party Recognised by the Law Court”. The Talmud and the Shulchan Aruch have been pronounced by the court, it said, as not being religious works in the sense in which we understand religion, and the fact that Jews practise human sacrifice according to the command of the Zohar, which the Jews hold sacred, has been testified to on oath by Dr. Erich Bischoff.

Deputy Goebbels, the Hitlerist leader in Berlin, has also been acquitted in Berlin (in May 1931) of the charge of insulting the Jewish faith by publishing an article in the “Angriff”, of which he is editor, in which he said that Jews commit ritual murder. It had not been established, the court said, that the article was an insult to the Jewish religion, since it spoke only of fanatical adherents of the Jewish religion, and not of all who practise Judaism.

The ritual murder accusation is not an insult to the Jews, it added, but a historical fact, since many churches in Germany, Austria, and other countries are dedicated to Christian saints who were martyred for ritual purposes by the enemies of the Christian faith.
