Nine Israelis, former residents of Nazi concentration camps, gave testimony in an Israel court today against six Nazis standing trial in Vienna for war crimes. The witnesses identified various of the defendants from photographs furnished the Tel Aviv District Court by the Vienna court.
Some of the witnesses told the Israeli judge that the defendants had thrown living Jewish babies into a fire and that they had tortured Jewish women. One of the witnesses said he would not go to Vienna to testify because he could not again “face those human beasts.”
