Jews Threatened with Retribution for Danes’ Opposition to Nazi Regime

A threat that the Jews of Denmark will eventually “suffer one hundred times over” for every attack against the Clausenists, the Danish Nazis, is voiced in the Fadrelandet, Clausenist organ, reaching here today. At the same time the Nazi paper indicates that the Danish people are violently opposing the German-fostered attempts to arouse anti-Semitism among them.

An article by Emil Petersen, a Danish Nazi writer, claims that the Jews are responsible for the hostility displayed by the Danish people towards the Clausenists. Petersen cites the fact that the families of “volunteers” who have joined the German forces on the Soviet front are being persecuted by their fellow citizens; school teachers incite their pupils against the Nazis and the windows in the offices of the Danish Nazi organization are broken daily. He charges that the Danish government has not adhered to the anti-Comintern pact, since it has failed to deprive Jews of their citizenship and has not removed Jews from all important positions. The article concludes with the warning that “when the Danish volunteers return from the Eastern front they will take over the protection of Denmark.”
