Jews throughout Hungary, whether or not they have already been confined in ghettos, are restricted to shopping only two hours daily, under a decree published in the official gazette of the pro-German Hungarian puppet government. This will make it difficult for Jews to secure food as their shopping hours come after the rest of the population has made their purchases.
The problem of statuss of Hungarian notables, which have been sculpted by Jews, is engaging the attention of the anti-Semitic Hungarian press. Although most of the papers balk at destroying these sculptures, which are in museums, parks or other public places throughout the country, they suggest that, perhaps, some of the works “of minor value” which are made of bronze might be smelted down for scrap.
