Jews Victims in Two Fires in Polish Towns

The entire Jewish population of the town Sokolow, district of Siedlce, are roofless as the result of a fire which swept the town Sunday night. The local Kehillah issued an urgent appeal for immediate aid.

A fire caused much damage in the town Makow, near Warsaw. The local synagogue was destroyed, and seven Holy Scrolls were burned. The rabbi ordered a fast in mourning for the burned Scrolls.
