Jews to the number of 2,087 were met by the Jewish Immigrant Aid Society of Canada during the months from June to November, 1929. They went to nine different provinces of Canada, Quebec being the destination of 764; Ontario, 919; Manitoba, 260; Saskatchewan, 63; Alberta, 38; New Brunswick, 6; British Columbia, 22; Nova Scotia, 14; and Newfoundland, 1. Twenty-two were detained, according to the report of the Jias, 21 being later admitted through the intervention of the Legal Aid Department of that society.
