The income received by the Jewish National Fund in Palestine during the past year reached a new yearly high of L620,000, approximately $2,500,000, of which L396,000, approximately $1,600,000, came from the United States, it was announced here today by the London JNF office. The sum contributed by the American Jews was the largest received from any country.
A total of 45,479 dunams of land were purchased during the year including over 5,000 in the Gaza plain. The 1941 purchases bring the total land holdings of the JNF in Palestine to 561,429 dunams. JNF income from land rentals was L16,300, approximately $65,000, which was a thirty percent increase over last year.
