The King of England today gave his consent to the Jewish National Fund project to plant in Palestine a forest bearing his name in honor of his twenty-fifth jubilee.
The forest will be planted in Nazareth and is to consist of 1,250,000 trees on an area of 1,500 acres. The cost of planting the forest will be contributed by the Jews of England as a tribute to the King.
RABBI HERTZ A GUEST
Elaborate preparations are also being made by individual Jewish organizations in England to celebrate the King’s Silver Jubilee in an appropriate manner. Dr, Joseph Hertz, Chief Rabbi of England, is one of the guests invited by His Majesty to represent the Jewish faith at the celebrations in the Palace.
In connection with the jubilee, Chief Rabbi Hertz issued a special prayer to be said in the synagogues throughout Great Britain during the Sabbath services on May 11. This prayer, printed in Hebrew and in English will be offered for the Royal family in every Jewish place of worship in the country.
