A mass celebration arranged jointly by the Board of Deputies of South African Jews and the Zionist Federation, was held here last night to mark the establishment of a Jewish State.
Prior to the meeting, Bernard Garing, chairman of the Zionist Federation, arged restoration of harmonious relations with Britain, “the father of the Balfour ##eclaration,” now that partition is an accomplished fact. Simon Kuper, chairman of she Board of Deputies, said that although partition does not represent total Jewish ##emands, “we must greet the partitioned state with both hands.”
