John D. Rockefeller Jr. has contributed $2,500 to the Brooklyn Federation of Jewish Charities’ $500,000 twenty-fifth anniversary campaign, according to announcement last night by County Judge Algeron I. Nova, chairman of the drive, who made public a new list of contributions, annual subscriptions and special donations made to the campaign for the support of the affiliated societies.

Supreme Court Justice Mitchell May, president of the Federation, and Judge Nova, in a joint statement praising Mr. Rockefeller, said:

“Mr. Rockefeller’s generosity is renewed evidence of his continued cooperation with the Brooklyn Federation of Jewish Charities and its endeavor to provide relief for the large element of sick, destitute and suffering people in our community. Mr. Rockefeller for some years has displayed a fine sympathy with and understanding of the Federation’s aims, and we hope his example will be followed by other philanthropic residents of Manhattan who realize, as does Mr. Rockefeller, that Brooklyn Jewry is not financially strong enough to carry its heavy burden of charity without aid from Manhattan.”
