John Ruskay was named to the top professional position at the UJA-Federation of New York. Ruskay’s promotion to executive vice president from his post as one of two chief operating officers at the world’s largest Jewish fund-raising and social service organization comes as his predecessor, Stephen Solender, is being named the president of the United Jewish Communities, the entity formed through the merger of the United Jewish Appeal, the Council of Jewish Federations and the United Israel Appeal. Misha Galperin will continue as the UJA-Federation’s chief operating officer.
