The American Jewish Committee and the Anti-Defamation League of B’nai B’rith will launch an independent fund-raising drive in Los Angeles through the Joint Defense Appeal, it was announced today.
“The decision of the agency leaders to go directly to the community for support was made necessary by continuing reductions in the allocations made available to the J.D.A. by the Los Angeles United Jewish Welfare Fund, “the announcement said. The J.D.A. this year is also conducting independent campaigns in New York and Chicago.
