Palestine, inquiries into schechita bans in Bavaria and Poland persecution of Judaism in Russia, the situation in Roumania, relief of Yemen refugees, calendar reform and South African immigration restriction are receiving the attention of the Joint Foreign Committee of the Board of Deputies and the Anglo-Jewish Association it was reported yesterday. It was stated that correspondence is proceeding with a view to concerted action for adequate representation of the Jewish case to the League of Nations Inquiry Commission concerning the Palestine events and conflicting Jewish and Moslem claims to the Wailing Wall.
Major Harry Louis Nathan, M. P., objected to the Joint Foreign Committee acting in this matter, contending that it was the concern of the Agency. He said that the Jews must present a united front if the League of Nations consents to hear anyone besides the British government, which is unlikely, he said.
