Rabbi Jonah B. Wise, one of the national chairmen the United Jewish Appeal, was today awarded an honorary degree at the commencement exercises of the Jewish Theological Seminary of America.
Ephraim E. Lisitzky, noted American Hebrew poet and Jewish educator, and Rabbi Israel Goldfarb of Brooklyn were also awarded honorary degrees at the exercises at which the 16 graduates were ordained as rabbis. Judge Louis E. Levinson, former adviser on Jewish affairs to the American high command in Europe, was the chief speaker at the commencement.
