Nathan S. Jonas, Edward Lazansky, presiding justice of the Appellate Division; Harry E. Lewis, Supreme Court Justice, and Simon F. Rothschild have accepted posts as honorary chairmen of the Trade and Membership Council of the Brooklyn Federation of Jewish Charities, now engaged in a $500,000 campaign to meet the budgetary necessities of the Federation’s twenty-five constituent societies, according to an announcement issued jointly yesterday by Supreme Court Justice Mitchell May, president of the Federation, and County Judge Algeron I. Nova, chairman of the campaign.
The joint statement also made public the personnel of the general campaign organization, including the following additional officers of the Trade and Membership Council, which is the money-raising organization of the Federation: Harry M. Marks, first vice-president; Walter N. Rothschild, second vice-president; Joseph M. May, treasurer; Dr. Joseph J. Schwartz, executive director of the Federation, and Michael M. Nisselson, director of the Council.
The campaign officers include Samuel Salzman, chairman of the Council; Harry Eckstein, Morris W. Haft, Murray Hearn, David B. Jacobs, Samuel Kappel, Abraham H. Schwartz, Irwin Steingut, Fred J. Zeitz, vice-chairman of the Council; Harry Zeitz, chairman executive committee; Major Benjamin H. Namm, chairman Trade Organization committee; Mrs. Clarence G. Bachrach, president Women’s Division; Jeanette G. Brill, Women’s Division campaign manager; Irving P. Kartell, president Junior Federation, and Stuart M. Miller, Junior Federation campaign chairman.
