Jordan plans to purchase arms from the Soviet bloc countries through a neutral country which was once a member of the bloc, it was reported here today from Amman. It is believed that financing for the purchases will come from other Arab states.
Meanwhile, dispatches from Cairo said that Yemen’s Crown Prince Mohammed Bader arrived in the Egyptian capital en route to Moscow to conclude a trade pact with the USSR and possibly an arms deal it was reported from Cairo that two Russian destroyers, sold to Egypt, were en route to Alexandria.
The Lebanese authorities have seized all copies of last Saturday’s New York Times offered for sale in Beirut, the Times reported in a Beirut dispatch today. The Times of that date carried an editorial criticizing the Arab intransigeance against Israel and the Arab refusal to discuss peace with Israel.
