Jordan urged President Bush to meet with Yasser Arafat at the United Nations. A spokesman for the Jordanian government said the meeting would be necessary to help achieve peace in the Middle East. Bush and Arafat were at the U.N. General Assembly meeting Sunday in New York, but Bush has said he will not meet with the Palestinian leader.
