Jordanian officials asked Israeli officials not to refer to Jordan as the real Palestinian state. Michael Ratzon, Israel’s deputy minister of industry, trade and labor, said a Jordanian delegation asked Prime Minister Ariel Sharon on March 11 to retract past statements to that effect. Sharon told the delegation that in the future he would stress that he doesn’t view Jordan as a Palestinian state.
