The Jordanian shelling of Israel’s Red Sea port of Eilat Saturday which wounded three persons drew a warning yesterday in a letter submitted to the Security Council by Ambassador Yosef Tekoah.
The Israeli envoy, notifying the Council’s November president Otto R. Borch of Denmark, of the incident, listed 36 attacks or sabotage actions allegedly carried out from Jordan since Oct. 23.
Mr. Tekoah said that since that time four Israeli soldiers have been killed and 11 wounded, five civilians have been wounded, nine Arab terrorists have been captured and four killed.
Israel said that the “Jordanian Government must bear full responsibility for warlike acts committed from its territory whether by regular or irregular forces,” and noted that “in recent days Jordanian officials have publically expressed support for continued acts of warfare against Israel.”
