Funeral services were held last Friday for Joseph Herbstein, former Justice of the South African Supreme Court. He died in his home in Savyon near Tel Aviv. He was 85 years old. Herbstein, a life-long Zionist and one of the few Jews to serve as a Supreme Court Justice in South Africa, had resided in Israel since his retirement from the bench in 1963.
