Funeral services were held this week for Joseph Pines, banker and philanthropist, who died Saturday at the age of 57. Mr. Pines, a retired rubber manufacturer, was a vice-president of the Judea Industrial Corporation, a director of several banks and of the Gan Chaim Corporation which was interested in the development of orange groves in Palestine. He was also a founder of the United Israel Zion Hospital, a former president of the Flatbush Jewish Center, a member of the national executive committee of the Z. O. A. and a director in Brooklyn Jewish organizations.
