The State of Israel was given a description of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency’s worldwide news-gathering and dissemination operations in a special broadcast today from the JTA’s office here. Asher Schwartz, general manager of the Israeli News Agency, the JTA operating subsidiary in Israel, told listeners on Kol Yisroel, the State radio station, how JTA brings news from the world at large to Israel and vice versa.
He described the work of the JTA’s main headquarters In New York under general manager Victor Bienstock and its European headquarters in London headed by S.J. Goldsmith. The program was part of a general program describing the role of communications in Israel.
