Judge Fines Two Jews for “insulting” Fascist Speaker, Belabors Fascist Meetings

Geoffrey Raphael, a London magistrate, today ##ed two Jews for using insulting language to a speaker at a fascist open-air meeting, and at the same time delivered a scathing criticism of the police for providing ##tection for people who “make speeches at public meetings which are really nothing ##e than Jew-baiting.”Before sentencing the Jews, Harold Cowan and Percy Samuels, Magistrate ##hael declared that giving the fascist salute at a public meeting is an act of ##ulting behavior likely to cause a breach of the peace. He added that such actions ##uld be dealt with by police as a crime.At the Home Office, a spokesman declared that if a breach of the peace is ##used by giving the fascist saluto the police are justified in taking “preventive ##tion.”
