Justice Israel Louis Horwitz, senior judge of the Free State provincial division of the South African Supreme Court, died yesterday at Bloemfontein, seat of the court. He was 59.
Born at Bloemfontein, Judge Horwitz became a distinguished jurist in the Free State. He had always been closely identified with the Jewish community and was at one time a chairman of the Free State Committee of the South African Jewish Board of Deputies.
