Jules Cohen, national coordinator of the National Community Relations Advisory Council, was cited today by the Rabbinical Council of America for his work in coordinating Jewish religious and communal agencies in seeking to protect Shechita in consideration by federal and state legislatures of humane slaughter legislation.

Rabbi Emanuel Rackman, president of the Rabbinical Council, lauded non-Orthodox religious organizations, as well as Jewish community relations councils for joining “in an extraordinary demonstration of unified endeavor” in the legislative hearings. The work has been coordinated by the Joint Advisory Committee of the NCRAC and the Synagogue Council of America.

The citation said that Mr. Cohen, who is also secretary of the Joint Advisory Committee, “not only has helped shape policy and formulate programmatic strategy, but has effectively coordinated the expeditious implementation of policy and program.”
