Julian Meltzer has retired from the permanent Staff of the Weizmann Institute after 24 years. He will, however, continue in the posts of executive vice-chairman of Yad Chaim Weizmann and director of its archives, and managing editor of the Letters and Papers. In this capacity, he heads the research and editing of the multi-volume Weizmann Letters and Papers in Hebrew and English editions. From 1934 to 1948 Meltzer was the Palestine correspondent for The New York Times.
