Resolutions urging its membership to take an increased interest in Israel and in American community affairs were adopted here today at the concluding session of the 29th annual convention of Junior Hadassah Miss Gloria E. Rubin was re-elected national president of the organization.
The convention, attended by about 500 delegates from 44 states, also adopted a resolution urging the United States Government to use its influence in the United Nations to achieve a lasting peace in the Middle East through direct Arab-Israel negotiations. It also urged United States ratification of the Genocide convention. A decision to launch an educational program that would make the membership of the organization more aware of problems formed by the American people was also admited.
The parley adopted a budget of $100,000 to implement its program for 1953. The budget included $100,000 to improve ### quarters and build a new infirmary at Meier Shleyah, the children’s village in Israel which is supported by Junior Hadassah. Another $15,000 was allocated to the Jewish National Fund.
