JUNIOR HADASSAH, CONCLUDING ITS FOUR-DAY FOURTEENTH ANNUAL CONVENTION, THIS AFTERNOON ADOPTED A BUDGET OF $66,350 FOR THE COMING YEAR AND A RESOLUTION URGING BRITAIN TO USE A FIRM HAND TO STAMP OUT VIOLENCE IN PALESTINE AND ESTABLISH PEACE.

THE RESOLUTION COMMENDED BRITAIN FOR WHAT IT CALLED A DETERMINED STAND TO QUELL TERRORISTIC ACTS AND THE LAWLESS ARABS. THE COLONIAL OFFICE WAS URGED TO SELECT AS THE SUCCESSOR TO HIGH COMMISSIONER WAUCHOPE A MAN WHO WOULD SHOW DETERMINATION IN ERADICATING VIOLENCE.

AFTER AN ADDRESS BY ITTAMER BEN AVI, OF PALESTINE, THE CONVENTION INCREASED THE JEWISH NATIONAL FUND BUDGET TO $18,000. NELL ZIFF, NEW YORK, WAS ELECTED PRESIDENT. FRIDAY NIGHT THE CONVENTION REGISTERED OPPOSITION TO THE PROPOSED PALESTINE PARTITION BY ADOPTING A RESOLUTION CALLING ON THE ZIONIST EXECUTIVE IN ITS NEGOTIATIONS WITH BRITAIN “TO BRING ABOUT THE COMPLETE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE MANDATE OVER AN UNDIVIDED PALESTINE.”
