A protest against the restriction of Jewish immigration into Palestine and a pledge to raise $6,000 during the coming year for the Loan Fund of “Ha’Poel Ha’Mizrachi” in Palestine, were among the resolutions adopted on Monday by the convention of the Young Mizrachi at the Pennsylvania Hotel. 52 delegates from New York City, Boston, Philadelphia, Chicago, Detroit, Cleveland and Seattle were present at the convention, which opened on Sunday.
Z. Karp is president of the Young Mizrachi and I. Epstein is Executive Director. In his annual message Mr. Karp reported that many new branches of the Young Mizrachi have been organized in this country during the past year, and that the organization sent $5,000 to Palestine for the “Ha’Poel Ha’Mizrachi”, besides raising considerable sums for the Jewish National Fund, the Allied Jewish Campaign, Yeshivoth and other Jewish educational institutions.
