Justice Arthur S. Tompkins of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court will receive the 1934 award for the best service to the Jewish Home for Convalescents at the annual dinner of the home, which will be held Thanksgiving Eve at Central Plaza, 111 Second Avenue. Mayor LaGuardia has been invited to make the presentation.
The institution is located at Grand View-on-the-Hudson. The citation praises Judge Tompkins for “putting a stamp of true nonsectarian service” upon the home’s work and for his “nobleness of character, generosity and humaneness.”
