The National Jewish Welfare Board today announced publication of a pamphlet telling the story of the heroic work of the Jewish chaplains in the American forces on behalf of the persecuted Jews of Europe. The work is based on the letters of the chaplains themselves and is illustrated by photographs from Buchenwald and other points where they met and served displaced persons. The fore-word is written by Rabbi Philip S. Bernstein, retired executive director of the JWB Committee on Army and Navy Religious Activities.
