Dr. Bernhard Kahn, European director of the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee, and David J. Schweitzer the committee’s financial administrator, arrived here today for a survey of the Polish-Jewish situation and to confer on ameliorative plan.

It was estimated here that approximately one-third of the entire Jewish population of Bialystok, or about 15,000 persons, will require charity for the Passover holidays.

Simultaneously, it was reported that the mortality rate among Jews in Lodz has doubled in recent months. A total of 21 Jewish funerals took place last Sunday alone.
